The Spiral Trio forms in Basel, Switzerland, where the three members meet themselves while following their Master and chamber music studies in their respective specialties. When they start playing together, they feel a great connection, something not so common to find, which makes them consider further the project. Anton Kernjak, their first chamber music teacher, encourages them to continue with this idea, because – although the mixture is not an usual one, it owns a very unique, warm and expressive timbre.
The Spiral Trio seeks to combine the different colors and textures of the three instruments in every possible way, from solo to the trio, creating concert programs more versatile and flighty than the conventional ones, and accosting works seldom to find together on the concert scene, with the goal of revealing new links and of involving different kinds of audience.
They are selected in the ORPHEUS Swiss Chamber Music Competition 2012 to take part at the Adelboden Festival in Autumn 2012.
